Rural Education And Development Programme LBG (REDEPP)
Serving Rural Communities for Over Two Decades
The Rural Education and Development Programme LBG (REDEPP) is an all-volunteer non profit organization based in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region of Ghana. REDEPP was legally incorporated in November, 1999 and granted NGO status by the Department of Social Welfare in April, 2001.
REDEPP provides opportunities for the rural communities to work voluntarily together to enhance standard of living. REDEPP assists and supports the rural communities in areas of education, environment, health, poverty alleviation, water and sanitation as well as any other developmental activities important for
them.
About REDEPP
The membersof the board of REDEPP and the officers are either current residents of the district or were born and raised there, left to pursue other careers, and have nowjoined with REDEPP in an effort to improve the lives of people in the district. REDEPP has received funds from the Ghana AIDS Commission for education in HIV/AIDS, New England Biolabs Foundation (USA), the Cottonwood Foundation (USA), America Jewish
World Service (USA) Nyarkoa Foundation (USA) and World Bank (small grant) Service for assistance in improving the physical environment of the district through tree planting, clean up, improving water supply and community education on gender issues.
In 2016, REDEPP was asupporting partner of the Environmental Justice Foundation-UK (EJF) Postcards From Frontiers project and Home Truths- Climate Witness Network. i.e (EFJ climate campaign to secure international action depicting environmental abuses or destruction through photography.
